I have been telling folks about this "tea" and all are SO happy that I have found something that helps. I was so scared the first time that I made it, thinking UGH this is going to taste nasty.   IT DOES NOT!!!  My husband and I have 3 children, a 12 year old daughter, a 17 month old son and 3 month old daughter.  The 12 year old tasted the tea and even she said it tasted good. I do miss my cups of tea, and can't wait for it to come in the mail. Again, thank you not only for the insight for making the tea, but as well as your support.Kelly D, Haughton,

BLESSED THISTLE: (Cincus benedictus )

(stimulates the mammary gland) - has been recommended as a treatment for stomach upset, indigestion, constipation and gas. Some individuals employ these herbs like they would its cousin milk thistle, as a remedy for gall bladder and liver disorders. Among it's many uses, blessed thistle is being used as a breast milk stimulant. It is chiefly used now for nursing mothers. The warm infusion scarcely ever failing to procure a proper supply of milk. It is considered one of the best medicines which can be used for this purpose.

FENNEL SEEDS and POWDER Combo:      (Foeniculum Vulgare)

Fennel was well known to the Ancient Greeks and was revered by Pliny, who believed strongly in its medicinal properties and used it in as many as 22 remedies. It was taken by the Romans to all of Italy and France, where it became popular as a galactogogue, a substance which increases a mother's milk supply. Fennel's potential to aid in breastfeeding is due to its content of flavonoids and coumarins, which are groups of phytoestrogens, plant compounds which exert a balancing effect on female hormone levels. This action to benefit female hormonal balance has also made fennel a popular choice for breast enhancement formulatons, and in European herbal tradition even taking fennel alone can encourage breast development. In any list of herbs for increasing a mother's milk or for promoting breast growth, it is likely that fennel will feature strongly.

 FENUGREEK SEEDS and POWDER Combo:

(Trigonella Foenum-graecum)

(increases milk flow) - Fenugreek seeds contain hormone precursors that increase milk supply. Scientists do not know for sure how this happens. Some believe it is possible because breasts are modified sweat glands, and fenugreek stimulates sweat production. It has been found that fenugreek can increase a nursing mother's milk supply within 24 to 72 hours after first taking the herb. Is widely used today by herbalists as an agent to stimulate milk production by nursing mothers to increase inadequate breast milk supply.
Fenugreek is one of the world's oldest medicinal herbs. It has a variety of uses, including increasing breastmilk production.

 ANISE:

(Pimpinella Anisum)

Called "Tut-te See-Hau" by American Indians, meaning "it expels the wind", Anise's carminative properties have been known since antiquity. Anise has been cultivated in Egypt and known to the Greeks, Romans and Arabs, who named the plant anysun. Throughout the ages Anise seeds have been known for their ability to diminish flatulence and colic, and to settle the digestive system. They are commonly given to infants and children for relief of colic, and to people of all ages to ease nausea and/or indigestion.

Anise also has an expectorant and antispasmodic action that's helpful in countering menstrual pain, asthma, whooping cough and bronchitis. The mild hormonal action of anise seeds may explain its ability to increase breast-milk production and its reputation for easing childbirth. As a medicinal plant, Anise has been used for centuries as a carminative (relieving gas in the gastrointestinal tract), antiseptic, antispasmodic, expectorant and stimulant. Anise enjoys considerable reputation as a medicine for coughs and pectoral infections. In addition, it has been used to promote lactation in nursing mothers and as a relief from indigestion. Anise has long been used for relief of colic in children. Over the centuries, it has been reported to have numerous medical benefits, but there is no evidence that it offers any pharmacologic benefit. It is thus a flavorful digestive spice that may be soothing, stimulating or carminative in some individuals, and it is a popular taste in drinks, confections and simple proprietary medicines.

 Alfalfa

(Medicago sativa)

Alfalfa is One of the more common galactogogues (milk supply increaser) enriches quality & production of milk supply . Alfalfa is used with homeopathic remedy Lactuca Virosa to stimulate milk production in breastfeeding mothers. . - the alfalfa proteins contain essential amino acids such as arginine, lysine, theronine and tryptophane. These amino acids supplement any deficiencies due to lack of essential nutrients in the diet. Alfalfa is one of the richest sources of dietary fiber and chlorophyll. These nutrients have induced nutritional authorities to experiment with alfalfa as a ready form of easily digestible food and as a protein concentrate for supplementing protein deficient foods such as vegetables.
